Title: “Improved detection of M. tuberculosis using TB-Beads method among smear negative patients”

Laboratory: Mycobacteriology Laboratory, International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b).

Duration: 15 December 2012 – 26 October 2013.

The research focused on tuberculosis detection among smear-negative patients and the application of the TB-Beads method in improving detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Project Work

• Isolation and identification of amylase- and protease-producing bacteria from soil.
• Isolation and biochemical characterization of Salmonella from hospital and poultry waste.
